Levy County, Florida - A traffic crash that occurred in Morriston, Florida between a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a tractor trailer rig on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, resulted in minor injuries to three of the four passengers involved in the crash, and no injuries to a 2 year-old boy who was a passenger in the SUV. The crash occurred at 1:30 p.m., at the intersection of State Road 121 and County Road 326.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the SUV was driven by a 42 year-old woman from Belleview, Florida, traveling west on County Road 326, approaching the intersection of State Road 121. Her passengers included a 26 year-old woman and a 2 year-old boy, both from Belleview.
The tractor, driven by a 54 year-old man from Orlando, Florida, was towing a trailer loaded with lime rock, traveling south on State Road 121. The tractor trailer rig driver carried no passengers.
When the driver of the SUV arrived at the stop sign at the intersection of State Road 121, she failed to yield the right-of-way to the tractor trailer rig that was traveling south on State Road 121, which resulted in the front of the tractor trailer rig crashing into the passenger side of the SUV within the southbound lane of SR 121, where the tractor trailer rig was traveling.
After the collision, the SUV rotated counter-clockwise, and during the SUV's rotation, the rear passenger side of the SUV made a secondary contact with the SUV, which came to final rest blocking the northbound lane of State Road 121, facing south.
After the initial collision between the two vehicles, the tractor trailer rig veered to the left, then overturned onto its passenger side, blocking the northbound lane of State Road 121 with the trailer. The trailer load spilled across both lanes of State Road 121 as it overturned, which caused an extended road closure. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) responded to the location with heavy equipment to clear the roadway of debris.
All four passengers were wearing a seatbelt.
