Bronson, Florida - On September 24, 2025, 62 year-old John Harmon Jordan, Jr., of Chiefland, Florida entered a plea of 'no contest' in Levy County Court and was sentenced to serve 15 years in the Florida Department of Corrections, which spared the victim the emotional trauma of a trial.

As a result, Jordan is now classified as a sexual predator, and upon his release from prison, he will be required to register as a predator with the sheriff’s office in the jurisdiction of his residence.

As a result of the victim's allegations to detectives with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office, Jordan was arrested on May 5, 2023, charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.

The investigation into the victim's allegations determined that numerous sexual interactions had occurred between Jordan and the victim over the course of several months, and during those months, the victim had been assaulted, numerous times. Evidence corroborated the victim’s statements of what had happened. Detectives recovered digital and biological evidence, along with recorded admissions by Jordan of what had happened.

"The outcome of this case highlights the dedication the sheriff’s office has to holding these types of offenders accountable, while protecting the well-being of survivors and victims," said LCSO Lieutenant Scott Tummond.
