UPDATED: Morgan Dawn Head, 35, of Yankeetown, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), September 26, 2025, charged with hitting an unattended vehicle or property without leaving identification, and driving under the influence of alcohol with damage to property (both bonds were set at release on her own recognizance).
According to the arrest report, LCSO deputies were dispatched to Couny Road 40 West and County Road 40 A in Yankeetown, due to a traffic incident in which a driver had lost control of their vehicle and ran off the roadway into the tree line. A deputy reported that Ms. Head's face was red and flushed, that her speech was slurred, and she had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person. Head told the deputies that she'd consumed alcohol before driving the vehicle and admitted she'd been driving the vehicle when she crashed it into the wooded area. She refused to submit to roadside sobriety testing, but submitted to breath alcohol testing at the Levy County Detention Bureau, with results of 0.174 and 0.182; the legal limit is 0.08.

UPDATED: Michael Steinhorst, 51, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), September 23, 2025, charged with two counts of violation of a condition of pre-trial release on a domestic violence charge (no bond). Steinhorst was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
On September 18, 2025, LCSO deputies spoke with a woman (the victim) at an Inglis store who complained, that as she was riding her bicycle to the store, Steinhorst had violated the 'no contact ' order against him by yelling profanities at her as he drove past her. The report stated that the victim has contacted the LCSO, several times, complaining that Steinhorst had driven by her home. On September 23, 2025, Steinhorst was taken into custody, charged with violating the no contact order.
