UPDATED:  Camerino Perez Perez, 41, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, May 25, 2025, charged with using a firearm under the influence of alcohol, and resisting an officer with violence ($26,000 bond).
The arrest report stated that deputies were dispatched to an Inglis home due to a report of a verbal disturbance. The caller reported that a man, later identified as Perez, was intoxicated and in possession of a rifle. While enroute to the location, deputies learned that Perez was now threatening to shoot another person at the residence.
Deputies arrived at the location to see Perez and an elderly man on the porch. Perez was armed with a rifle that was later identified as a KSA Crickett .22LR bolt-action rifle, and the elderly man was attempting to take the rifle, which was pointed upward, from Perez. The elderly man managed to take the rifle from Perez, and a deputy took possession of the rifle and placed it on the ground, away from the porch.
The report stated that Perez grabbed the edge of a wooden table and flipped it over, toward the deputies, stating, "Come get me!," that he refused to obey the deputies' commands, his muscles were tensed, and he was shifting his weight in a manner that made the deputies believe he was contemplating a higher level of resistance. The two deputies each deployed their tasers, making contact with Perez, which allowed them to place him into handcuffs, and he was then more compliant. A search of his person turned up a knife.
Witnesses on scene said that Perez had become intoxicated, previously, taking out his gun, but he'd only pointed it at himself, and this time he also had not pointed the gun at anyone.
