Khalid Emmanuel Brown, 35, of Archer, FL and Bronson, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), May 25, charged with sexual assault or battery by a custodian of a victim 12 years of age, and lewd or lascivious behavior toward a victim 12 years of age ($2,000,000 bond). According to the LCSO, Brown is accused of having inappropriate sexual conduct with the 12 year-old victim over a period of several months. In a press release, the agency released this statement, "We encourage parents and guardians to continue to make every effort to protect our children from those that would do them harm. Monitor their social media activity, their choice in friends, and their behavior. Many times, early intervention can prevent a child from falling prey to those with bad intentions. We applaud the bravery of this child who can now rest somewhat easier knowing her abuser will be held responsible for his own actions."
