UPDATE: Branden James Tyrrell, 22, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, April 15, charged with second degree petit theft - first offense, grand theft of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted Florida felon, and possession of ammunition by a convicted Florida felon ($250,000 bond). According to Tyrrell's arrest report, a deputy was sent to the Family Dollar store, located at 110 N. Inglis Ave. in Inglis, due to a petit theft by Tyrrell. Upon his arrest, Tyrrell told the deputy that he'd recently been released from prison. The deputy verified that Tyrrell had been convicted of two felony charges on July 21, 2021 in Levy County, Florida: burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and grand theft. At the time of his arrest, Tyrrell - a convicted felon - was in possession of a firearm that was located inside a fanny pack on his chest. The gun was a semi-automamtic 9mm Glock G43X that had been reported stolen in Gainesville, Florida, that was loaded with 7 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
