Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO)
On March 28, 2023, Levy County Undersheriff Brett Beauchamp warned citizens of a current scam in Levy County, Florida. "We have learned from multiple sources that one or more scammers are impersonating our deputies on phone calls to fraudulently obtain money," he said. "The caller has falsely identified themselves as 'Lt. Scott Tummond' from LCSO. The caller demands electronic payment to avoid the execution of an arrest warrant. This is NOT how we do business. Please do not fall for this scam. Feel free to contact our office with any questions you have."
If you have a question or an incident to report, the LCSO can be contacted by phone at its non-emergency line (352) 486-5111
Lt. Tummond stated that he was out of town when the scam began. "What I know, right now, is that several people have fallen for this scam, even one citizen of Citrus County. "
