Morriston man arrested, accused of lewd conduct with a 12 year-old child

Joseph Matthew Davis, 44, of Morriston, Florida was arrested in Marion County, Florida, March 16, as the result of an investigation by Detective Rob Bowers with the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO). The investigation began on February 10, 2023, when Davis was accused of inappropriately touching a 12 year-old girl, exposing his genitalia to her, and offering her $3,000 to have sex with him. 

Detective Bowers interviewed the victim. Her testimony, along with other evidence and the assistance of LCSO victim advocates, provided probable cause for Davis' arrest. An arrest warrant was obtained, with a bond of $200,000 assigned to it.

Detective Bowers and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Forcem located Davis in Marion County, March 16. He was arrested on the warrant and booked into the Marion County Jail in Ocala, Florida, charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a person between the ages of 12 and 16, lewd and lascivious conduct toward a person under the age of 16, and lewd or lacivious exhibition. 

Davis is being held without bond at the Marion County Jail. He will be transferred to the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida where, his bond will be set at $200,000.
