One arrested and one commits suicide when drug search warrant served in Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, Florida - Early Thursday morning, Dec. 8, 2022, detectives with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) Tactical Impact Unit (TIU) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team executed a search warrant at 5023 N. Bedstrow Blvd. in Beverly Hills, as the result of an investigation into ongoing narcotics sales at the residence.

After detectives made entry into the home, one of the suspects, 38 year-old Brian Waddell, was located inside a bedroom.  Another suspect, 25 year-old Cameron McNeil, retreated into a bathroom, armed with a handgun, and was laer discovered inside the bathroom, deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Inside the residence, detectives located and seized narcotics, a massive amount of drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and numerous weight scales.

Waddell, who has previously been convicted of several felonies and twenty-three misdemeanors, was charged with trafficking in greater than 2 oz. of methamphetamine, and possession of greater than 4 grams of cocaine, with his bond set at $52,000.

"Drug dealers have no place in our community," said Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast. "This type of illegal activity puts everyone in danger and has less than favorable outcomes. We will continue to fight illicit drug activity in our community at every given opportunity."
