Imanuel Marrero, 26, was arrested in Escambia County, Florida (in the western panhandle area of the state), as the result of an investigation into claims made against him by a 12 year-old girl who resides in Levy County, Florida.

In May of 2022, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Levy County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation based upon a complaint filed on behalf of a 12 year old child. The child had disclosed to her parent, that Marrero, the former boyfriend of the female victim's parent, had touched her in an inappropriate manner, exposed himself to her, and had engaged in sexual intercourse with her.

Detectives learned, that when the girl's allegations against Marrero were made known, Marrero fled the area. Meanwhile, the investigation continued, and Levy County detectives built their case.

Months went by before Marrero was located in Escambia County, Florida. Levy County detectives went to Escambia County and conducted an interview with him. The interview revealed sufficient information that corroborated incidents described by the child. Detectives secured a warrant for Marrero's arrest on charges of capital sexual battery, and lewd and lascivious conduct with a child between the ages of 12 and 16.

Deputies with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, headquartered in Pensacola, Florida, located Marrero on October 24, 2022, and arrested him on the Levy County, Florida warrant. Marrero was booked into the Escambia County Correctional Facility in Pensacola, and is being held on a $350,000 bond. He will be transported to the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bonson, Florida, in the near future, to face these charges in Levy County Court.
