The arrest report stated that deputies were dispatched to a Lecanto residence due to the report of a shooting, and deputies arrived at the location and nearby pastures to find four people who were involved in the incident: Mr. Pullara, Mr. Pullara's fiance, and an elderly couple.
The report stated that Pullara lives at the Lecanto residence with the elderly couple, but about 8 to 10 days peviously, the elderly couple had asked him to leave because he was verbally abusive, and he'd returned to the house that day to check his mail.
Pullara was located within a pasture, in possession of a 0.22-cailber rifle and a box of 0.22-caliber ammunition. Deputies were informed that the elderly man had taken off running south through pastures. Deputies located the elderly man in the 3900 block of S. Lecanto Hwy. with a gunshot wound to his left ear.
Mr. Pullara told deputies that he got into an argument with the elderly man because he'd accused him (Pullara) of stealing his mail. Pullara said that he then called law enforcement to file a report, and he also contacted his fiance, to inform her about the incident, and she'd soon arrived at the elderly couple's residence.
Acording to the accounts of the witnesses (victims), Pullara touched the victim's nose and the two men got into a brief physical altercation, and Pullara then went to his room and returned with a knife, which he threatened the three witnesses with, and he then went again to his room and returned with a rifle.
The report stated that the elderly man told everyone to quickly leave the residence. They said Pullara began pointing the rifle at everyone, and the victim went to his truck to retrieve a handgun. As Pullara made his way out of the house, he intentionally pushed the elderly woman to the ground, according to the witnesses, then exited the house through the door and began firing at the elderly male victim, who returned fire with the handgun, and during this gunfire exchange, the victim's left ear was struck with a bullet. After the shooting began, the two woman took cover inside a vehicle.
The elderly male victim told deputies, that after he spent the 6 to 7 rounds in his handgun, he retreated to the pasture where he was located by deputies.
The other two witnesses told a deputy, that after the elderly man headed off to the pasture, Pullara went inside the house to get additional ammunition, and he then began to follow the victim through the pasture.
The elderly victim allowed emergency medical services personnel to treat the gunshot wound to his ear, but he refused to be transported to a medical facility for further care.
