Ocala (Marion County), Florida - A 59 year-old man from Dunnellon, Florida died as the result of a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Ocala on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 6:24 p.m. The crash occurred on Marion County Road 225A, in the area of NW 110th Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a pickup truck, traveling north on County Road 225A. While the driver was negotiating a left curve in the roadway, the pickup truck traveled off the roadway onto the right grass shoulder. The vehicle continued in a northern direction and traveled over a private driveway before returning to the right grass shoulder where it struck an electrical box.
After the impact, the vehicle continued traveling north into a grassy ditch before striking numerous tree branches. The front right of the truck then struck a standing tree, which caused the truck to rotate and overturn. The truck then rotated in a clockwise direction and overturned onto its roof. As the truck overturned, the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected out of the driver’s window.
The truck came to rest, on its roof, facing east, within the grassy ditch on the right side of the roadway.
At 6:37 p.m., the driver was pronounced deceased, on the scene of the crash, by Joseph Bush, a paremedic with Marion County Fire Rescue.
