Inverness, Florida - An 18 year-old Inverness man died as the result of a traffic crash that occurred in Inverness on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 7:45 a.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the youth was driving a Chevrolet Malibu sedan, traveling west on East Gospel Island Road, and east of the intersection of South Van Buck Drive, failed to negotiate a curfve in the roadway, resulting in the vehicle departing the roadway onto trhe north shoulder, The vehicle then traveled back across the roadway, entered the south shoulder and collided with a tree.

The driver, a Crystal River High School student, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
