Gainesville man found deceased after crashing into a tree on SR 121 in Levy County, FL

Williston, Florida - A 56 year-old man from Gainesville, Florida died on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, as the result of a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred on State Road 121, near NE 65th Street, in Levy County, Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, about 2:46 p.m., the agency received a report that a vehicle had crashed into a tree at the location.

The Levy County Sheriff's Office and Levy County Fire Rescue arrived first at the location to find the vehicle, a sedan, on the east side of the highway, with its front-end against a standing tree. Inside the vehicle, in the driver's seat, was a 56 year-old man from Gainesville, Florida who was determined to be the sole occupant of the vehicle. The driver was wearing a seatbelt.

The male driver was pronounced deceased on the scene of the crash by Levy County Fire Rescue. 

The Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the location a short time after the other two agencies and conducted a crash and traffic homicide investigation. At the time of the press release, the investigation was still ongoing as to the cause of the crash. No other vehicle was involved in the crash.
