Driver seriously injured and one year old girl dies after Inverness single-vehicle crash

Inverness, Florida - A one year-old female child died as the result of a traffic crash that occurred at 6:47 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025 on N. Croft Avenue in Inverness.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 32 year-old man from Hernando, Florida was driving a Chrysler 200 sedan, traveling north on North Croft Avenue, when the driver lost control of the vehicle, south of East Ramsey Street. As a result, the sedan left the roadway and traveled onto the outside shoulder, where it first struck a utility pole, then a tree, followed by guide wires.  

The driver and the one year-old female child both suffered serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals. The child later expired from injuries suffered during the crash.
