Chiefland, FL man dies as result of driving into Suwannee River in Old Town FL
Dixie County, Florida - At 7:00 pm on Friday evening, October 6, 2023, a 31 year-old man from Chiefland, Florida died as a result of driving his vehicle into the Suwannee River in Old Town (Dixie County), Florida.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, the man was driving a sedan, traveling north on U.S. Highway 19, north of SE 965th Street, when his vehicle left the roadway, traveled to the right in a northeastly direction across the east grassy shoulder of U.S. Highway 19, through the wood line, and into the Suwannee River, where he and his vehicle both became submerged.
