Obituary, Sara "Sally" Price, 72, of Coral Springs, Florida
March 5, 1948 - January 30, 2021

On January 30, 2021, Sara "Sally" Price, 72, a long-time resident of the Inglis and Yankeetown, Florida area, finished her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at home, with her family at her side.

Sally, who spent her childhood in Alabama before moving to Florida, followed in the footsteps of her mother and served as postmaster of the Inglis, Florida Post Office, and later as postmaster of the Yankeetown, Florida Post Office, until her retirement in 2009

Following her retirement, Sally became a licensed real estate agent and also came to work as an independent news reporter for The Newscaster (Newscaster Publishing) where she continued until 2016, when she moved to the Coral Springs, Florida area to be with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sally was elected to serve on the Yankeetown Town Council and resigned, short of one full term, after receiving various threats. She was later elected to the Inglis Town Commission and received, at that time, the largest number of votes ever received for a commissioner. She was an avid boater and for many years held a valid captain’s license. She was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the (now closed) Inglis V.F.W. Post 8698. Sally was also a historian of the Inglis/Yankeetown area and a social activist for causes she was passionate about.

Sally was preceeded in death by her son, Jon Denis "Deni" Price, Jr., 48, on November 13, 2012.

She is survuved by her daughter, Lynn Price Hough, of Coral Springs, Florida, grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Upon Sally's death, her daughter, Lynn, posted on her Mom's Facebook page, "She loved each and every one of those...she knew. She never met a stranger...I’m very blessed and grateful to have been raised by such a strong and caring woman...I’m blown away at all of the loving responses and the impact she had on so many people."

Sally herself, posted this to her Facebook page, just five days prior to her death, "I am afraid that I have some very personal reasons for this post. And I'm sad (that) in the most difficult moments of life, you realize who your real family, friends, or people are, that really appreciate you. Cancer is very invasive and harmful. Even after the end of treatment, your body is still struggling to restore the damage caused by radiation/chemotherapy. It is a very long process.

"When we see the Beloved in each person, it's like walking through a garden, watching flowers bloom all around us" - Ram Dass. Dear Sally, we always saw your beautiful flowers and smelled their sweet fragrance. Namaste.
